The successful business women we are crushing on right now
As you know I am a role models fanatic, always seeking a good motivational woman to look up and draw advice. Role models just push me forward and help me put my dreams in perspective. You also know by now (have read - multiple times!) that I am also a hardcore podcasts enthusiast, so what better than sharing with you my latest golden #9to9girls? (yup. Nothing.)
So here are the ladies that have inspired me lately: they are founders, CEOs and brilliant new leaders of generation Millennial. I have been listening to their podcast interviews, read about them and looked up anything and everything there is to know about them. The stories behind starting their businesses, the complicated road to raising capital and creating an authentic company culture, mixing private life and career goals- have me inspired, more focused on my goal and braver; having their examples by my side.
NB: Did you know you could look up anyone on your podcast app and find new shows with the people you want to hear about?!
Whitney Wolfe Herd, Bumble CEO
Why her? She overcame complete media and reputation questioning storm with grace and courage and fierce determination. She is behind the genius and super feminist venture Bumble, Bumble BFF and Bumble Biz. Also just launched a VC group for women led businesses. Amen!
Best podcast interview: Skimm’d from the Couch, episode 001
Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zaking, The Skimm CEOs
Why them? I discovered theSkimm (and you should too!) recently and fell in love with the email-based daily news report. Their story is so inspirational to anyone looking to launch a business. How they raised money, lived on credit cards and kept hearing nos after nos.
Best podcast interview: Listen to their own! Skimm'd From the Couch. It is my new favourite!
Tyler Haney, Outdoor Voices CEO
Why her? Tyler is around my age, and I just loved her story and the way she created her business Outdoor Voices, reinventing athletic wear, daring to take on the giants like Nike or Lululemon. She speaks out with honesty always, on creating culture, believing in a mission and listening to your instincts with creativity. Cruuuush!
Best podcast interview: No Limits, episode 93
Ariel Kaye, Parachutes CEO
Why her? Just so inspirational. Obviously behind the super trendy interior brand Parachutes, she has also reinvented the way to do marketing with podcasts sponsors, TV reality product placement and capitalizing on content. Mega crush.
Best podcast interview: She Did it her way, episode 256
Elizabeth Chambers, Bird Bakery CEO
Why her? She is my gorgeous daydream of the woman I want to become. Founder of the most sought after bakery in the US, and TV chef star, you will love the story behind the brand.
