our new role models in 2018
We have said it here, but there is something really comforting about finding some people to refer to, to look up to for inspiration when we can’t find it in ourselves. I love turning to great women who have accomplished tremendous work in business, fashion and wellness to feel reenergised and to remind myself that the road to ‘success’ is paved with hard-work and slow beginnings. That they too, had to start somewhere. These ladies inspire me to keep dreaming. They bring a gentle soothing comfort to my daily routine. These women bring the best out of me and the most comforting feeling- just like a warm cup of tea steaming in crisp porcelain, or a fuzzy cosy blanket. They make me feel that little extra safe and confident.
So let me introduce you to 4 ladies that boost my daily routine and who’ll take good care of you!
Started as a Fashion make-up artist and turned Youtuber superstar, Violette was recently named Estée Lauder Global Beauty Director. Authentic, creative, and smart, I love her re-definition of Beauty and draw great inspiration from her career progress.
Principal Dancer of the American Ballet Theater who became the first African American woman to be promoted in this position in ABT's 75-year history. Misty is a great model for resilience, determination and passion. From a career development point of view, I also look to her as she branches out to other aspirations and collaborations with fitness apparel brands.
Oh yea, we have spoken about this lady before, and will keep speaking about Em. Ultimate entrepreneur genius and role model of mine. Emily is behind the genius beauty site Into the gloss and founder of Millennial inspired make-up brand Glossier. Emily has recently been profiled in Time, Inc., Entrepreneur, Vogue, New York Times and many more. For all of you - of us, trying to build a brand that we believe in, she is the ultimate guru, a source of motivation, that proves that with hard work and a strong vision, things do happen.
Founder of the brand Deliciously Ella , her whole journey started as a reaction to an illness she was diagnosed with, demanding a complete lifestyle change. Ella started a vegan diet and incorporated yoga into her daily routine and documented it all in her blog. She healed and became an overnight success. What I love about Ella as a role model, is her warmth and intelligence (I have listened few podcasts with her, and her Insta stories are pretty honest too!) I love her integrity and her honesty about her lack of self-confidence. She is a great model to follow on how to create a brand and expand a business.
Great interview of Ella by Yoga Girl (uhhh double role-models combo!)
