The best mascaras to pair from office to night

When it comes to mascara, there are few rules we swear by:

- Price is irrelevant to quality. Some of the best mascaras are supermarkets' gems.

- Pairing brushes, formulas and brands to layer up is key for a brighter, fuller look.

- Never - ever - ever pump the brush in and out hoping to get more product on your brush. All you'll achieve is to let air in and dry up your mascara formula.

Now that the grounds are set, we've tested and elected our best mascaras pairs to achieve a super natural look that you can update for your night out. A true #9to9 experience. Each of our 3 pairs has a cheap and a splurge option that will offer both definition and volume. You can thank us already:

The Falsies Push-Up Angel de Maybelline + Dior Show mascara

That is the combo I personally use every day. You get the lenght and the separation from Falsies and the body from Dior Show. Cheap and pricey, it feels like a bargain and a treat at the same time. Win.

Givenchy Phenomen'eyes mascara + L'Oréal Voluminous Million lashes

Another great combo if you like to get all your lashes covered for a cat eyed look, and to add volume with a fuller brush. The genius of Phenomen'eyes is that it allows you to catch every single lash, especially in the corner of your eyes. You just have to layer that up with the Million lashes to be equipped from 9 to 9.

Clinique High Lengths + Rimmel Sexy Curves

High Lengths is a little bit of an icon when it comes to mascaras. From mothers to daughters, we all love the definition it gives, but I personally always found it lacked body. So I started pairing it with Sexy Curves and got the exact result I wanted: clear defined lashes with a ticker deeper look that is just perfect for a dinner in town, or a night out with the girls. Another cheap and splurge combo we swear by.
